Experience
We have experience of working in many different areas, both in our business and elsewhere including:
Anglesey Sea Zoo is headed by two partners - David Lea-Wilson and Alison Lea-Wilson, who between them manage a series of departmental teams, each team containing at least one specialist in their field. Anglesey Sea Zoo was recognised as an Investor in People in March 1996, re-recognised in 1999 and continues to use the Standard as a management framework. David Lea-Wilson has a wide range of interest and experience. Born in Uganda, educated in Kenya and England, he went on to do a BA in Geography, specialising in economic geography and tourism, and a Masters Degree in Financial Economics. He has set up and managed a fresh and live seafood company, servicing 110 outlets in North Wales. He then went on to set up Anglesey Sea Zoo in association with Alison Lea-Wilson and another partner, employing up to forty staff and attracting 100,000 visitors per year. David's expertise lies mainly in project management - demonstrated by the turnkey delivery of a complete aquarium for Mersey Ferries in 1991/2 and marketing. He is presently involved with the running of a Dolphin Rescue Centre supported by Welsh Water Plc., Coastguard, RSPCA, Police and Volunteers, is an advisory Board member of the National Botanic Garden of Wales, which was recently awarded £21 million by the Millennium Commision. He is also a non-Executive Director of Associated Quality Services Ltd., gaining contracts to inspect all quality graded tourist outlets in Wales, Guernsey and the Republic of Ireland. Alison Lea-Wilson gained a BA in English Literature and a Post Graduate Certificate of Education before being involved in the seafood business and Anglesey Sea Zoo. Her main areas of responsibility have been within the retail, catering, marketing, education and personnel aspects of the zoo - establishing and maintaining a gift shop (turnover £100k+) and restaurant (turnover £100k+) and publishing education packs for use at Anglesey Sea Zoo together with their supporting talks. She was involved in the Mersey Ferries project and designed and stocked its gift shop. Other interests include being Vice Chair of North Wales Tourism, a Community Co-optee of North Wales Probation Committee, and a Recognition Panel member for Investors in People. A recent activity has been to project manage the design and fit-out of the retail area for Electric Mountain, with the responsibility for increasing turnover, efficiency and profit. How Can We Help?
It is crucial to achieve and maintain a competitive edge and we can share some of the knowledge that has helped us gain the reputation that we have. Objective One is an opportunity to draw down capital and we can assist in grant applications. By focusing on a specific area of your business we can work with you to identify and implement a results-orientated consultancy. It can vary from just a day or two to a long-term client-consultant relationship. No fees or expenses are charges for the initial meeting at our offices with a prospective client. However, expenses will be incurred if the initial meeting take place at the client's office. Anglesey Sea Zoo offer a very personalised service, and no matter how large or small the project or client, we bring the same level of care and attention to our work. All projects are managed personally by one of the partners who may work alone or with a team, which may include one of our associates. We can help you plan, achieve and maintain a competitive
edge, and we can share some of the knowledge that has helped us gain the
reputation that we have.
To find out what we can do to help your organisation develop the competitive edge contact Alison Lea-Wilson or David Lea-Wilson or our Business Administrator, Helen Evans. To contact us email:mailto:fishandfun@seazoo.demon.co.uk Home
